Speech Pathology Services & Supports
Initial Speech & Language Assessment
An initial assessment helps us understand your child’s communication strengths, challenges and everyday needs. This may include a parent/caregiver discussion, play-based observation, informal communication sampling and, where appropriate, standardised assessment. After the appointment, you will receive clear feedback and practical recommendations for next steps.
Early Language Support
Early language therapy supports children who are late to talk, using only a small number of words, not combining words, or finding it hard to understand and use language. Sessions are play-based and parent-friendly, with a focus on everyday communication routines such as play, books, mealtimes and getting ready for the day.
Liaison & Reports
With your consent, Justin can liaise with educators, GPs, paediatricians and other allied health professionals where this supports coordinated care. Written reports can be discussed where required for your child’s needs, school planning or funding purposes.
Speech Sound Therapy
Speech sound therapy supports children who are difficult to understand or who have trouble producing particular sounds. Therapy may involve helping your child hear the difference between sounds, learn new sound patterns and practise words in a fun, achievable way. Home practice is usually included so progress can continue between sessions.
Parent Coaching & Home Strategies
Parents and caregivers are an important part of therapy. Coastal Whispers provides clear, practical strategies that can be used during everyday interactions, so your child receives support beyond the therapy room.
